Hello and Welcome

I've decided to go back to my roots and start stamping and paper crafting again. In just the past couple of days I have done so much and what fun! This weekend I am making teacher appreciation gifts for my kids' teachers. I knew I'd be covering a candy bar and wanted to do something creative with a microwave popcorn bag. After browsing ideas a Splitcoast Stampers, I found this and knew just what I wanted to do! Using some new items from Genevieve Sass, I created a coordinating gift of chocolate and popcorn. (Yes, this from her grab bag!)

Creating this cute and inexpensive gift was not difficult at all. Digitally, I created a new file 7.5 x 10.5 inches and created my main design. I print on HP Everyday Matte Photopaper. This works very well and isn't as stiff as regular photo paper. Using my Xyron, I applied adhesive to my digital paper, then mounted that on to some light-weight pink cardstock to add some stability. I cut my cardstock a little wider than my digital paper, so that I could add a cute decorative border. This idea came from Paper Jewels, a fellow TAC demo. This was one of those "duh" moments in that, why didn't I think of that? I have so many punches and decorative scissors it's not even funny! Once your design is complete, you need to score the papers at 1/2 inch and again at 5.5. Seal using your favorite double stick tape. I prefer wonder tape since it's one of the strongest out there! I finally added some decorative ribbon and paper flowers.

Enjoy, and I hope all your childrens' teachers have a great week!
