Scrapping Project Life in 2012

OK, so I'm not very good at New Year's Resolutions, but I do have a few scrapping ones I'd like to see done for the year.  The biggest, and probably most important, is just getting an album for the year complete.  I've been so bad at doing actual "albums."  I can scrap pages like no one's business, but putting them into books, not so much.  I probably have enough pages done to get some books printed, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how I complete my pages.  I just scrap!  This year, I'd like to change that.

I've decided to try a couple different projects this year that I hope I can get finished.  First, I'm going to try Becky Higgins' Project Life.  One of the things that I really miss with digital scrapping is being able to include the "scraps" into my scrapbooks.  I love the ease and versatility, of digital, but I really miss being able to have those tangible odds and ends in my books.  I think Project Life is a solution for me.  I can still scrap digitally, but I can also include the "stuff."  I'm so inspired, I even did a page from the excitement of Christmas!
Template: Wendyzine of Scrapbook Graphics--she also has actions making use of the templates even faster.
Backgrounds and elements: North Pole Collection by Mari Koegelenberg.  She includes a note card add-on that is perfect for the 3x4 journaling spots of the templates/page protectors.
I'm not sure how difficult it'll be, but I also want to try and catch up, getting some pages done from 2011 too.  This was a pretty significant year for us and I really want to get it documented.  I suppose more than anything, that's what our scrapping should be about.  Not just the pretty pages, but the documentation of life, and I've been missing that.

As I've thought more about this project, the more I've needed to get my husband involved too.  He's currently deployed and I feel like I'm missing out on so much of his life this year, and he of ours--another reason to do this book!  I brought it up to the great designers over at the Digichick and Danyale of etc., by Danyale offered to do a kit for me.  She was ever so speedy and this week released Military Day by Day!  I can't tell you how excited I am about this!
The add-on journal cards and journaling elements
Not only will this be a fantastic kit to scrap Project Life with, but it also works so well for heritage and general military photos.  My husband and I are now starting to scrap his photos of his adventures of life so far away from home.  He's pretty handy with Photoshop Elements himself, so I'm curious to see what he comes up with.  For the most part though, I think I'll be the one to scrap these.

Here I used Wishing Well Creations' PL Template in style A along with the kit and journaling cards
As I do every year, I made a resolution to lose the weight and exercise more.  I'm sure we all do.  Last year I was doing so well until the earthquake, running the couch to 5K program three days a week and almost getting it finished.  Needless to say, I've not run since then. I decided not to wait until the new year and began again just after Christmas.  So far so good, although week 3 this week is doing me in.  I need to get  myself into better shape, and drop some much needed pounds.  I can do it!  To help keep me motivated through the year, I've joined Cathy Zielske's Move More, Eat Well workshop at Big Picture Classes. I think this will be the accountability that I need to get me through this year.  This is going to be a fantastic journey and am happy to say that two weeks, in I'm keeping at it and doing well.

Another resolution of mine, Blog More!  I had actually started this post just after Christmas and we see where it's been.  Took me three weeks to finish it up, so not good.  I have  so much to share though and I love the accountability blogging provides.  Here's hoping to post more in the very near future.
